Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Chevy Blazer LS 4WD. It has been a good vehicle up to 200,000 miles. I like the Blazer so I did a complete rebuild, motor and trans. Since rebuild I have put on about 3000 mile s on it with no serious problems only minor issues. Now I have an electrical issue I can’t seem to solve.
I’LL BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY WHOLE instrument cluster will start flashing at me and the engine starts to die, However If I pull over it will go back to 500 rpm idling. Wait a few minutes take off again and it will let me go another mile and act up again. My Chilton manual is no help.
Is there anybody out  there that can help?

Chancing electrical issues is tough. Check the battery cables first for crack sand splits and for corrosion on the terminals. How old is the battery? Check your grounds too.
