2005 chevy impala

I just bought a 2005 chevy impala on Tuesday I
drove it back to my house before I could get it
home I came to a red light and the car just cut off.
Then it started flashing the battery symbol so u
thought the battery had died i turned over the let
and the car started right up u was able to pull into
a gas station then the car cut off again  and
flashed the battery symbol again. I called multiple
people who knows about cars and one person said
it was the altenator. I called a mechanic and he
said it could be the mass air flow sensor so I went
and bought one and it started up fine and made it
to my house with out pausing or stopping but as I
was driving today the check engine light came on. I
want to know what it might be

First thing to do is have the computer scanned for trouble codes and post the codes you get here so we can help further. Most likely the battery light came on because the engine stalled. That's normal. The alternator is driven by a belt that's driven by the engine. So when the engine stops the alternator stops charging and the light comes on. Most auto parts stores will scan the computer for free. HTH. - Jim
