Have you had the intake manifold checked for vacuum leaks at the heads? On mine the gaskets pulled away and went into the crankcase so when I pulled out the PCV Valve I still got vacuum in the crankcase. It pinged terribly, replaced the gaskets and then just a slight ping pulling a a steep grade, cured that with some octane booster.
