1986 300ZX auto trans wont shift into OD until engine gets to operating temp.

i think it's kind of normal but i'm not quite sure, i got many auto nissan from 90' to 00' and they wont shift properly into OD until it get to the proper temperature, it's a safety mesure to make the transmission and the engine getting warmer faster

That's normal. In an '86 the transmission is technically a 3 speed with torque convertor lock-up as overdrive, i believe. When the fluid is cold its thicker, if the converter were to lock-up while cold it could damage the transmission.
