My Saturn Ion will start when it wants to and not when I need it too.
The display shows service vehicle and the car will not even attempt to start, the battery is in good condition. If anyone could give me some ideas as to what is going on.
Sounds like the starter is bad. The service vehicle light is always on if the key is on but not running. The next time you get it running check and see if the service light stays on after its started. If it does have it scanned for free at Autozone.
It might be under the huge GM ignition switch recall. It's the same car as a cobalt.
I also have had problems with my seatbelts that cause them to both stop retracting. I don't know what the deal is with that.
Try pulling them both out all the way and make sure they aren't twisted at all. One twist in the belt and it won't have enough room to roll the rest of the belt up.
Could be the anti-theft system.
