How do I replace the starter on a1994 lexus 300
My car will not start when I turn to start car I get a clicking sound starter will not turn engine .
Don't jump to conclusions that it's the starter, First have your battery and alternator tested. Especially if your battery is 5 years old or more. Then move to starter if they check OK
The solenoid is probably the culprit. It is as cheap to replace the starter with a remanufactured one. The starter has to be disassembled to replace the solenoid and it costs about $100.00 for the part. The whole starter with solenoid attached can be had for $115.00 at Rock Auto. Denso brand is the O.E.M. replacement but others will work.
