my 97 ford taurus sho rpm are not reading

i changed the altenator and new battery and when running the rpm stop reading and the radio goes off then nothing  can you help

Sounds like you have a loose or incorrect connection, since this all happened when you did the parts swap. I think the tach gets it's signal from the coil pack, check that for loose connections first.

Also check the connections at your new alternator. Some cars have the tachometer hooked up there. HTH. -Jim
