how to change 02civic shifter boot

need to know how to change the boot around the shift lever of a 02 civic. Having problem getting it off.

I believe you need to remove the shift knob and possibly the center console to access the boot and remove it. Some boots will pull up and off if the shift knob is removed but some are fastened from below the console area.
