Returning to the lineup for 2008, the Mercury Sable Base sedan is powered by a new 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower. The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission, which was standard.
The front-wheel-drive Sable Base sedan features a new grille, headlights, taillights, front bumper, and wheels, as well as sideview mirrors and door handles with a satin finish.
Inside, the steering wheel spokes and shifter knob also have a satin finish. Other new interior components include the instrument panel, as well as new interior colors and textures.
The Sable's AM/FM stereo system receives an MP3 input jack for 2008. Optional entertainment features include Sirius satellite radio, a 320-watt, seven-speaker Audiophile stereo system, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system.
For safety features, the five-passenger Sable is equipped with six standard airbags, including front, front-side, and a Safety Canopy system with a rollover sensor.
A power moon roof, power heated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, and a voice-activated, DVD-based navigation system with a 6.5-inch color screen are also among the options.
