In 1993, the AWD option was dropped on the Grand Caravan Cargo Van (C/V), but the regular C/V got an engine upgrade to a 3.3-liter, 150-hp V6 to give this utilitarian hauler more power for its purpose.
Its standard features are plain, like the Grand Caravan STD -- power brakes and steering, cloth seats, driver's front airbag. But unlike the STD, which is more of a family vehicle than a work one, the C/V came standard with 14-inch wheels and intermittent wipers. It seats two and offers 160 cubic inches of of cargo space. Aside from this attractive feature, drivers also love its comfortable handling and ride.

For 1993, the Grand Caravan STD kept the 3.0-liter, 142-hp V6 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission as its standard muscle. Along with the already standard driver's front airbag, cloth seats, power steering and brakes, tinted windows, and 15-inch wheels, standard for 1993 were a clock, remote trunk release, and rear windshield wiper.
At 19/24 mpg, it gets pretty good mileage for a vehicle of its size (192 inches long, able to seat seven pretty comfortably). Many drivers love the dependability of their Grand Caravans. The dash layout is easy to use, the ride is smooth, and the minivan itself is versatile in terms of its storage capabilities, whether you're transporting people or packages. Some drivers say they have poured a lot of money into maintaining their Caravans, hwoever, particularly with Dodge's one major thorn in its side, the transmission.

The 1993 Grand Caravan SE improves upon the STD trim with a larger engine size, a 3.3-liter, 150-hp V6, that is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. This extra power is a lot more suited to larger loads, providing nice acceleration for such a large minivan.
Standard features are similar to those offered in the STD trim, such as power brakes and steering, tinted windows, 15-inch wheels, and remote trunk release. Options include captain's chairs, cruise control, roof rack, keyless entry, air conditioning, and power locks and windows. Owners love the comfortable ride and spacious interior, but feel it is not very reliable because of all the repair work that needs to be done.

For a bit more money, you can get the Grand Caravan SE as an AWD vehicle. With the same standard creature comforts and engine power of the SE, the Grand Caravan SE AWD offers a little more reliability and confidence when dealing with non-city streets or if you live in cold climest that get a lot of snow.
Reviews are mixed for the Grand Caravan SE in terms of its reliability, but everyone can agree on its comfortable interior and cargo space.

An LE Grand Caravan is an SE with a few more standard featuers to improve the overall quality of the driving experience. The 3.3-liter-, 150-hp V6 is the same as in the SE, but the LE throws in cruise control, power locks, tilt steering wheel, heated mirrors, and an overhead console as standard. Those seeking a little more comfort for long road trips enjoy what the LE has to offer.
With 160-cubic inches of storage space (with both the second and third row of seating folded or removed), the Grand Caravan SE is loved by owners for its hauling capability. And the 3.3 V6 enables drivers to do some towing as well. The extra features, fuel economy, and handling have won fans. Bad paint jobs and transmission failure have lost some.

The 1993 Grand Caravan ES is the top trim in the Caravan line, so well-thought out that it might make you forget you're in a minivan. A 3.3-liter, 150-hp V6 comes standard. Building on the LE's standard features, the ES offers lighted entry, alloy wheels, fog lights, a trip computer, and a tachometer.
Drivers like the Quad command captain's chairs in the first and second row, as it separates fighting children. The interior features all contribute to the pleasant riding and driving experience that makes fans out of owners. Versatility and functionality are also plusses. Despite the engine power of the 3.3 V6, some drivers wish for more horsepower to tackle especially heavy loads or steep climbs.

A 1993 Grand Caravan LE AWD adds more capability as well as a higher pricetag to the regular Grand Caravan LE. Packing the same 3.3-liter V6 and 4-speed automatic, plus all the interior luxuries to make a drive for seven passengers comfortable and enjoyable even for kids, the LE AWD is built to tackle bad road conditions. For those with this kind of driving in mind, you might want to look into spending the extra money.
Although it gets worse gas mileage, about 15/20 mpg, it can take anything that's thrown at it. Rugged like a truck, but with all the luxuries of a sedan, the Grand Caravan LE AWD is a comfortable minivan if you don't mind its maintenance record.

Not many look at a minivan and think "rugged," but the Grand Caravan ES AWD adds a bit of that personality to the luxury and creature comforts (think dual air conditioning and cupholders) that characterizes this top-line performance model.
The 3.3-liter V6 might be the same as the SE and LE AWD trims, but standard features such as a tachomoter, trip computer, alloy wheels, and foglights add pizzazz. And the AWD gives owners the option of taking it out of suburbia and into the wild. Drivers' biggest complaints are maintenance and transmission repairs, but the comfort and ease of handling, along with all the cargo space seems to outweigh the problems for many.
