Quiet soft ride on rough back country roads, with decent handling and fantastic towing capability.. Also very quiet on the rough freeway lanes.. Bose stereo very good, heated seats very good for long trips. Engine quiet for diesel and power output is fantasticNov 23, 2014

This is a truck, not a luxury vehicle in a truck skin. It is made to work. It rides rough, burns a lot of gas, but is extremely reliable. I live in Texas with 100 degree summers and this trucks AC had no problems quickly cooling down the cab. Ice cold air! I had a Ford F250 Superduty and disliked the AC in that truck, couldn't get cold in the Texas heat. I would give this truck 4 out of 5 stars.Feb 09, 2014

Truck is very long, so parking is a hassle. Excellent reliability, endurance, interior noise, and power. Never had a break down in 75,000 miles of ownership. I travel to Rochester, NY from Raleigh, NC which is an 11 hour drive. I stop only for lunch, and this truck makes the drive extremely comfortable.Jan 02, 2013

Performance: Even with 600,000 km she still has get up and go, wouldn't keep up with a younger truck but would give them a run for their money :p
Build Quality: I bought the truck at 520,000k and have only done routine maintence and a new starter into her, the problem with the 01-04.5 series is injectors tend to be weak and difficult to change but (touch wood) mine haven't gone yet, use additive
Appearance: Love the "Classic" front ends, I've seen these trucks with nice looking tires and a tiny lift and they are "lookers" Only change I'd do is a bumper lift from factory, remove that 2" black trim under the grille...
Cost of ownership: Great on fuel (26 mpgs) and general maintenance have been my only costs, but again have heard injectors can be pricey...
Fun Factor: Hell yes!! Powers there and if she were an automatic definite trouble maker... :pOct 22, 2011

This truck will get the job done for you if you need to tow something. The gas mileage is not great, but for the size of the truck, it's understandable. It handles pretty well for a full size. i would recommend this truck!Aug 20, 2011

This truck is wonderful, lots of towing capacity and really rides nice. This truck has 8.1 Litre gas engine, have never been let down by it. Besides fuel pump replacement @ 100K, I've had to rebuild transfer case because of too much play in internal gears(gear ate through side of casing). I beat the Hell out of this truck and it still runs perfect!I mwill own this truck for a long time. Gas mileage will not allow me to drive it frequently(10MPG), but when I need to haul something it is invaluable. Jun 15, 2011

Big block 8.L V8 gives amazing power. Four doors is great for hauling people. Short bed is big enough to carry stuff without being obnoxious. Feel invincible in the truck and can go through any terrain. Off roading rules.Feb 28, 2011

This truck is a workhorse! Tows with ease, has been well maintained with regular oil changes, tune up at 100k miles. Other than a new fuel pump no repairs have been needed. No accidents. A great buy on a great truck!Feb 19, 2011

You put your foot down in this thing you'll be back in your seat. Huge 6.6 Litre Duramax Turbo Diesel. Excellent braking. Good solid truck in perfect condition. This truck gets 25 miles to the gallon. Insanely fun to drive.Feb 13, 2011

There is all the power you could ever need from the 6.6L V8 diesel duramax engine. The allison transmission shifts like a dream and with the tow haul mod it makes for a smooth ride even with a heavy trailer.
The front torsion bar suspension and leave springs rear suspension makes for a comfortable ride. Towing a 28 foot camper and loaded up for a camping trip I still get over 20 mpg and not towing over 25 mpg.Jan 02, 2011

4wd great but didn't pull trailer as I well as I thought a 6.0 should. Bouild quality great no problems squeaks or rattles. Appearance looked good with just the front lifted to level truck and 285/75/16 BFG All Terrrain's were great at the dunes pulling toy hauler for quads. Just don't expect the 6.0 gas to pull the mountains real good.Nov 13, 2009

Great Diesel power for towing, plenty of room in the cab, appearance is getting dated, have had some recent maintenance issues that weren't cheap but it has over 85,000 miles on it, overall a great vehicle for towing long distanceJun 26, 2009

Loads of power, Duramax and Allison are awesome. Wish I would have had the leather int. This one I put 33's on with cranking the torsion bars. Will haul about anything. I had no problems with this rig and bought it new.Mar 14, 2009
