Broken Idler Pulley On Mazda 2005 Tribute

have a 2005 mazda that has a broken bolt on the idler pulley. bolt broken or twisted off. this happens about every 20,000 miles. the rest of the bolt has to be tapped and removed.

O/D Off Light Flashes

Just brought 2001 Mazda Tribute . The O/D off light flashed. Notice the wire is cut at base of the gear shifter. Would this be why the O/D off light flashes?
