Used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 cost?

Prices have softened 6.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,802 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The 2024 ID.4 is positioned as a more competitive and enjoyable electric SUV than before, with a more powerful rear-drive motor, improved range, and a next-generation infotainment system. It fits well if you want a comfortable, practical EV with strong value and standard advanced safety features.

The main trade-offs are the unimpressive electric range on the base model, seat-sensor vehicle on/off activation, and touch-sensing controls. Even so, the market shows 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which supports its value case.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 ID.4 is described as a better-sorted EV than before, with improved comfort, more power, and upgraded technology. It also benefits from two years or 20,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

Its standard equipment and updated systems suggest a well-supported ownership experience, and the added charging and connected-service perks make day-to-day use easier. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-related features are working as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where software, charging, and battery condition matter. Focus on how the vehicle has been charged, whether the infotainment and driver-assistance features work properly, and whether the cabin controls feel intuitive to you.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes base, S, and S Plus trims, and the base model is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. The S and S Plus add more comfort and convenience features, while the Pro models bring the larger battery and more advanced powertrain options.
• Powertrain: The 62-kWh models use the previous motor, while the Pro models get a new rear electric drive motor with 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque. AWD Pro models add a front motor for dual-motor traction and stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: IQ.Drive is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. The parking assist system with Memory Parking is also available, but not every trim gets every feature.
• Infotainment: Pro models get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an improved user experience, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a customizable layout. The system also includes battery preconditioning for route-based charging.
• Range & charging: The standard 62-kWh battery is rated at 206 miles of range and can recharge in 6.25 hours or less on Level 2. The 82-kWh battery is rated at 291 miles with RWD or 263 miles with AWD, and Volkswagen says DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, review charging habits, and confirm whether the car has mostly seen home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is offered in 3 trim levels: base, S, and S Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the least expensive path into the ID.4, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down compared with the better-equipped versions. If you want the lowest entry price and can live with fewer features, it makes sense.
• S: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more of the comfort and convenience upgrades that make the 2024 model feel more polished. It strikes the best balance between price and equipment.
• S Plus: Choose this if you want the most upscale ID.4 experience, including the available premium sound system and the most feature-rich setup in the lineup.

Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive safety suite is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen ID.4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to make shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,802 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,978, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4's resale value?

The current average of $22,978 sits slightly below last year's $24,558.

That price movement suggests the ID.4 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If demand stays healthy and the model continues to be viewed as a strong-value EV, resale pressure should be more manageable than it would be for a less competitive vehicle.

The updated range, improved tech, and standard safety equipment should help keep it relevant with used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 earns favorable ratings from NHTSA, and IIHS evaluations are incomplete, though the rated assessments are strong.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive suite is standard and includes Travel Assist and Emergency Assist, along with post-collision braking. Travel Assist can help manage following distance and lane centering, while Emergency Assist can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop if the driver becomes unresponsive.

The safety package is a major strength, but you should still verify which convenience and parking features are included on the specific trim you’re considering. The available semi-autonomous parking assist with Memory Parking is a useful bonus, but it is not the same as every core safety feature being standard on every version.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The updated model brings a more powerful rear-drive motor, nearly 300 miles of range, and a better infotainment system.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,291, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,978 average.
• It offers a more affordable entry point with a smaller battery option and broadening standard tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded ID.4, the 2024 is the stronger pick thanks to its improved power, range, and technology. If your priority is saving money and you can live with the older setup, the 2023 remains the value play.
