Used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearAkron, OH

How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 10.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,039 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and equipment.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

You’ll also see recurring praise for its smooth ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy. Owners and reviewers also point to its powerful engine and useful features, which fit well if you want a practical compact SUV for commuting and everyday family use.

That said, the model still leaves room for rivals to pull ahead, so it makes the most sense if you value comfort, efficiency, and a straightforward daily-driver setup. Good and great deals account for 31.2% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with reviewers describing the Equinox as a vehicle they can count on for smooth, trouble-free driving. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by emphasizing its practical, everyday character and its solid overall execution.

You can also benefit from the fact that the model’s maintenance and ownership story is helped by a value-oriented market position, especially if you shop carefully for a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that lower-trim or poorly maintained examples may feel stripped down or compromised over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, equipment level, and whether the vehicle has the safety and convenience features you want, since lower trims can be sparse.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim is special-order only and lacks a spare tire, a compass, and most paint choices, while the LS adds those basics back but still stays sparse. The LT is the real starting point if you want a more complete ownership experience, and the Premier is where the advanced safety features appear.
• Powertrain: You get three engines, including a diesel. The 1.5-liter turbo is efficient but underpowered, the 1.6-liter turbodiesel brings strong torque, and the 2.0-liter turbo is the strongest choice if you want the best all-around performance.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring is only optional on the LT and not standard until the Premier. Adaptive cruise and pedestrian detection with auto braking are available only as an expensive package on the top trims.
• Infotainment: The updated system includes an 8-inch touchscreen, standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the new HD camera setup. The response can be a little laggy, but the interface is easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter turbo is rated at 26 mpg city and 32 highway with FWD, while the 1.6-liter turbodiesel is rated at 28 mpg city and 39 highway. The 2.0-liter turbo in AWD form is rated at 22 mpg city and 28 highway, with a combined rating of 24.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the cheapest entry point, but it’s special-order only and too stripped down for most used buyers to recommend.
• LS: It restores basics like the spare tire and compass, but it still feels too bare unless price is your only priority.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it opens the door to the stronger engine choices and the most useful equipment upgrades.
• Premier: Buy this if you want the most complete safety and convenience package, including the advanced driver-assistance features that are unavailable lower down.

The safety package is most complete on the Premier trim, while lower trims leave important features optional or unavailable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,039 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,051, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $14,051 sits slightly below last year's $15,740.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has softened enough to give used buyers leverage today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to recover value later.

The market still supports demand for well-liked compact SUVs, especially when they have strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns top marks in both government and independent testing.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Equinox’s safety story is strong overall, but the headlights are a weak point: both the halogens on lower trims and the HIDs on upper trims receive a Marginal rating from IIHS. The Lights and Bright package on the LT addresses that issue with LEDs front and back.

You also need to watch trim-level safety gaps. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard until the Premier trim, and adaptive cruise plus pedestrian detection with auto braking are only available as an expensive package on the top trims.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds HD rear-view and surround-view cameras, plus an updated infotainment system.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,397, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $14,051 average.
• It’s a redesigned compact SUV with a more direct role in the segment.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $15,446, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $14,051 average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features and easier-to-use technology.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the right pick if you want the year’s camera and infotainment upgrades at a softer price than the next model year. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2018 is the better value play; if you want more standard safety and tech, the 2020 is the cleaner upgrade path.
