ingintion problem

ignition does not work. replaced the ignition and it did not fix the problem.
i can start the car buy turning the key into the on position and run a jumper cable from the battery to the starter.

any ideas are greatly appreciated

i figured my problamo out. bad starter solenoid. changed starter fires right up

I have a 2002 Ford Thunderbird with 93k miles. Just recently I have experienced a hard shift between 1st & 2nd Gear. It does it sporadically(Maybe once or twice a day). Wrench light comes on. Car won't accelerate past 5 mph. Shut car off and it resets the light. Happens intermittently. Dealership cannot find the problem nor can they duplicate it.
