2005 Town & Country won't start, won't crank. good battery

Asked by DrewMG Jun 21, 2020 at 10:11 PM about the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Town & Country 3.8L. It was running fine when I went to the
store. When I tried to leave, it wouldn't start or crank. Lights, radio, etc came
on one time in accessories mode, but would come back on after that. Battery
read 12.2V. We tried to jump anyway, just to see, and nothing happened. It is
currently in the store's parking lot tonight while try to figure something out or
decide where to get it towed.

Sorry, that should read that lights WOULDN'T come back on after first time.

Update: The van started today on the first try. The instruments were going up and down, including the speedometer while it was parked. The PRNDL was fading in and out, and the red security light in the upper right corner was blinking. After I drove it around maybe a quarter mile all that stopped and it ran normal. Once I got home I tried it again and it started up fine with no weirdness. Also, the Lock/Unlock buttons on the key fob work again, which they didn't before this. My main thing is now, I don't know if I should take it in somewhere and have it check out or wait to see if it happens again. If it isn't having problems when I take to a shop, I'm afraid they could spend all day looking for something loose or a bad connection.
