98 ford mustang wont start.

Asked by Nov 29, 2016 at 05:26 PM about the 1998 Ford Mustang STD Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have an automatic 3.8 mustang. i pulled the dash and dropped the
steering column to replace the heater core. put it back together now it wont
start. took it apart again to look for short /obvious unplugged wires. only
thing i see is a broken ignition /shifter interlock switch. it has a cable that
runs to the shifter. will this make it not start? i thought it was only to let it
shift out of park, which it does.
