Blank Date and Time on engine start up

Asked by Stephanie Jun 19, 2019 at 04:33 PM about the 2017 Hyundai Tucson 2.0L Premium AWD

Question type: General

Recently my Tucson has been displaying --:-- where the date
and time would show when I start the engine. It does
eventually show the date and time but this is new. Just
wondering if this is an indication of something?? Maybe
battery??

Hi Stephanie! My car is doing that at this very moment, did you ever figure out what caused it to happen?

The same thing has been happening to be. Until now it eventually showed up. Today it remained blank —:—. Anyone figure out the source of the issue and/or how to fix

Wow... just noticed minetoday! First it said that it was Feb 9, 2036 w/reg am/pm time. I was able to adjust date by turning off GPS time. Then I turned GPS time on again. Went to do something and restarted car, now it's just --:-- and I'm unable to set time or date!

My BF took the SD card out...waited 30 seconds and the whole thing reset with date and time. No issues since.

Mine went to February too and showed time as 4:30pm. We turned off the car. Removed SD card. Waited 30 seconds. Put SD card back in started the car and it reset. No issues since.

Okay first I wanna say thank y’all so much for sharing your experiences! I seriously thought I broke something bc the time just disappeared. I just went outside and tried the SD Card trick and it worked! I broke a nail but I don’t even care!! I’m so pumped! If there is ever anything else that happens by random on your Hyundai Tucson or Hyundai period, I’d love to hear about it!! Thanks again everyone!!

Hey! So I have a Hyundai Tucson Limited and mine is located right beneath the seek/track buttons. It’s underneath the protection flap it says SD Map if I’m not mistaken. Once you get to it, push it in and it pops out. I tried to just pull mine out and realized that’s wrong lol

Mine started doing the same thing yesterday! At least that’s when I noticed it. I couldn’t get it to display or reset at all, even turning gps off and back on. I just tried the sd card and it worked. I had to turn the car off before I removed and reinserted the card. It didn’t work otherwise. Odd.

The sd card is located under the slot that says sd map, between the blue link and info buttons. There is a tab underneath you can pull out on. The card is underneath.
