I dont have any spark going to or from my distributor. Ive hooked a diagnostic code reader up to it and cant get it to make any connection.
Check you wiring, if the ECM is not getting proper voltage or good grounds it won't work, that could be the reason for failure to connect.
Ive checked every wire going to it and every ground on the vehicle. Its also getting good voltage.
check the ecm relay
It is very rare that an ECM takes a total dump, but if you have tested all of the wiring and system grounds and can't find any fault then the only thing it can be is the ECM. I can only remember replacing an ECM 3 times due to it failing completely with nothing else wrong with the system. There have been others but they had to be replaced due to some other problem like over voltage or shorts and bad grounds.
Ive come to the conclusion that a hit wires crossed with one of my grounds. Both the body and engine test hot. But still havent been able to solve the problem
The body and engine should be ground not hot or positive, if that is the case make sure the battery is in correctly then start checking the main fuse links, please let me know if the battery is in backwards, as this could lead to more trouble.
the battery is installed correctly. All the grounds are properly connected. All fuses have been checked. When i disconnect the negative post on the battery im able to get fire to my distributor but once the negative post is connected i loose fire...
