I replaced my 1992 jeep 6 with a chey 305 4bbl and need to find how to get my factory tach to work with the new motor

If you are lucky there will be a small switch on the back of the instrument panel that wil say 4 6 8 switch it to 8 then you will have to locate the tach drive wire and hook it up to the negative side of the coil.

did everthing work out on the motor switch or did it cost a small fortune
