The truck runs great until it gets warm and then the oil gauge starts dancing and then it starts tapping. If i press the gas the oil gauge stedies out again. All other gauges are fine. The engine temperature, battery gauge, there is no check engine  lights but the oil gauge goes nuts. If the truck cools downit works fine for  about 30 miles before it begins the problem. The engine runs fine? If so, I wouldn't worry about it... Its probably just the gauge itself. It might be loose or there might be a small ground problem somewhere.

I wouldn't be driving around much until I new what the problem was. It could be the start of a bigger problem. If your getting a tapping sound with your oil gauge dancing it means your not getting oil to your valves, IE Low oil pressure. When you give it gas, it stops tapping because pump is now pumping faster increasing pressure which would also steady the oil pressure gauge. Have your Oil Pres. tested and your gauge
