.Crank pully stops turning

03 Tiburon crank pully looks like it stops turning from time to time and belts squeel and power stearing get hard to turn

It might not be the crank pulley but the power steering pump pulley or the tensioner. You will need to see what pulley is seizing making the belt run over the frozen pulley. One way is to remove the belt and spin the pulley by hand to see which one won't move or makes noise. The crank of course won't spin unless the motor is on. HTH's

the crank pulley has a rather aggressive 'tooth' what stops it from turning, yes it is conceivable that this key was left out of the assembly somehow (blame a bug biting the assembler) but assembled and worked well until recent? could this be really what has happened here?
