My 1996 Honda Civic EX sedan starts "sputtering" as soon as I press the A/C button
after I turn my air on. I just recharged the air about a week ago. We have the car
running, with the air on like he can states. At my third can in, the car started making a
"sputtering" sound. It sounded like it was going to die and then come back. When I
drove it later that night and pressed the A/C button the car felt like it was going to die.
When I press on the gas it accelerates really slow and then jerks in every gear(It's a
manual 5-speed). So needless to say I haven't been pressing the A/C button. I need it
to work I live in Florida and my two year old needs A/C. Thank you for any
1. check tension on belt to compressor - sounds way to tight 2. not the belt and the compressor has failed and the energy required to turn it is stalling the engine. 3.
