how about when all lights are out, radio, ac temperature and gear shift lights, what is the problem then,,,,Honda dealership said was instrument cluster what is that and how does that make all the other lights go out,,,,but red needles light up and adjust with dimmer control

The "Instrument Cluster" is the gauges you look at (MPH, oil pressure, battery AMPS, fuel gauge, RPM (if you have that) or it could just be a pod with MPH, fuel gauge and engine coolant temp), while driving the auto. The Instrument Cluster wiring harness "sheet" (instead of wires to every location like the old days, now they layout a grid of wires required to "run" the dashboard and the gauges, and then cover the wires in a plastic "sandwich" which is a cleaner design then a bunch of wires. This "sandwiched wiring harness" controls all the gauges and dash lights in the "cluster" and is attached to the back of the cluster.
