Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a pristine 2016 HR-V and of recent the keyless ignition fob warning light has popped up on the dash.  I replaced the batteries on both fobs and all was well for a few weeks.  The warning light is coming on again.  Any fixes?

Same issue with 2017. Dealer said can’t find problem. Would “cost thousands” to replace computer

Same issue with 2016. Had it diagnosed and it is the Ignition Start Stop switch. Dealer replaced battery in FOB but it did not fix the problem. They failed to do diagnostic on the car for some reason. Had a friend in the auto repair business diagnose it and it showed the Ignition Start Stop switch ( button) having a fault. Will be making appointment to have this fixed as soon as I can get someone at the dealer to answer the phone ( long story).

Have a 2016 out of warranty with the same problem! Any long term problems from ignoring it?

Replaced the 'start' button the dash ($100.00 and I had to make them 'eat' the diagnostic fee because they said it was a bad fob battery which didn't fix it) . Problem solved, defective start switch. Waiting to pick up our 2019 CRV.

Same problem, but my car would not start 3 - 4 presses... replacing the start/stop button, won't buy Honda again. Just under 3 years old but 4K miles over warranty.

Recently I’ve been taking the fob out of the key so that I could put it in my pocket for when I go running. Do any of you leave the fob and the actual key out of each other for more than 30 mins at a time? I think that may have something to do with it and am trying to piece it together. I also remove the key from the fob on a regular basis (for hours)when I’m on the water. How might it be related? 2016 HRV

I also have the same problem, same year 2016. It now takes me 6 to 16 times pressing the start-stop button before the vehicle will start or stop. What is worse the dealership tells me the replacement part is backordered until the end of February 2020. I'm not very happy.

At Honda Sutton City with same problems. Said my fob & car battery needs replacement. Still under warranty. Had to dive in as they refuse to answer phone!

So annoying!!
