Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2016 honda hr-v I have been locked out of my vehicle twice. The fob was on
front seat. Had to have someone go and get spare fob to get in. What can I do?
push button start.
I usually lock the door from the inside drivers door, then double check it when I
walk away (with fob) when I did this I realized, oh I left the key in the car, when I
tried to open the door it was locked and there was my key on the seat, what
was weird it didn't warn me. Does anyone have any ideas. I have taken it to
honda, they said it checks ok but they have no idea why this is happening.
(Honda dealer didn't believe it at first until they tried it) they suggest I take it to
the place that put on my remote start so I did, everything checks ok on that end
plus I've had the remote start for over 4 months. last note the fob has a new
battery.

that is not a option there is something wrong and Honda should address it. There phase is the key fob CANNOT get locked in the car, well it can and it does.

You asked what you could do,just gave you a honest answer,If you won't call them I guess you don't need your car that bad. And good luck if you think Honda will pay for a aftermarket security issue!!

I have a spare key in my wallet that only opens the door, the spare electronic key is hidden in the car. So if I am locked out I use the key in my wallet that opens the door, then I find the electronic key to start the engine.
