2015 ram 1500 lifters

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 ram 1500 with 95 K miles . Oil
always changed and I’ve been pretty good on
maintenance . Not too rough on it and all the
miles are mostly highway miles but i think i
have got a lifter tick on passenger side . I
checked my exhaust manifold and the 4 studs
Holding the heat shield on seemed to be fine .
I did not check the other bolts or take off the
manifold.  The sound starts when it is cold
and continues even at operating temp. It is
not a horrible clicking noise but i noticed it
right away . I have been getting a 0456 code i
am not sure if it’s related to this but maybe .
Should i keep driving until it throws a code or
maybe ruins the cam and see how long i can
get out of the parts before i replace them or
should i have it looked at right now and
replace it with aftermarket cam and lifters and
if so any recommendations . I am debating on
doing all of this myself . Or going to a shop .
What price should i expect for them to charge
? Hoping someone can help me out with
answers.

Hey colton. Sorry to hear. I put 8k miles on mine bought used with 128k on it. Like you, pretty easy driving, same thing happened but mine began losing oil pressure. I have a warranty so saved what i think is about $4k!! Think the cam is shot too.
