2009 crown victoria police interceptor cylinders 7 and 8 are losing compression

Asked by Mar 24, 2015 at 12:22 PM about the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought this crown vic a month ago and the check engine light is on.  It recently has
been stalling when i accelerate and bogging pretty bad at idle. I took it to Firestone for a
tune up but they said it didn't need that. Cylinder 7 and 8 were losing compression and
didn't know why. I have changed 2 of the coils

I would have changed the coils if there was a misfire, poor compression is caused by something that has failed internal to the engine like a dropped valve seat, and other issues. Have a reputable mechanic diagnose the issue for you, sounds like you will be doing some engine work.
