does not want to start when cold

after car sitts overnight when cold does not want to start.. you have to keep pushing
gas pedal and letting up on it to start. once started runs rough for 10 to 30 seconds
then runs fine. after first start car starts up fine the rest of the day.the car has a 3800
engine in it.
