Asked by Feb 18, 2016 at 09:17 AM about the 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Classic

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just recently change my rotor distributor,
filter kit carb fuel, distributor cap, valve PCV
and spark plugs AC Delco only. But still
have engine service light on comes on after
after a little while after starting and then
cuts off then back on again and then stays
on a few minutes then sounds like it idles
high other than a few runs but I do not want
to further make damage while driving her
like this what next?

Recheck your work. You might have crossed the plug wires on the distributor cap, forgot to hook something up or broke a connection. You can also scan the car for the codes to see what the issue is as well.
