My 84 caprice classic's 305 has just been engine swapped for a chevy truck's 305. Now it starts but wont keep running help please...
What year engine did you install? A 1996 or newer is OBD II. Your 1984 Caprice is OBD I. BIG difference! HTH. -Jim
The engine itself is not the problem. Did you keep the original parts, like the electronic computers and ignition? That may be the problem. The newer engine uses different computers, sensors and codes. If a professional team put in the engine, take it back and have them check the codes and sensors.
