I just inherited a 1990 Chevy Caprice

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I just inherited a beautiful 1990 Chevy Caprice
and the mileage is 187000. It has a major engine
leak. I would like to keep the car, repair the motor
and have it be my forever car. I’m a single
Senior with a pretty low budget, can someone
recommend prices or service. And how many more
miles can the car go up to? Thank you in advance...

If it was taken care of, fixing the engine, you could get many more years out of it. Keep up with the maintenance and repairs. Pricing is dictated by the part and labor cost to replace. But working on an older Chevy, part prices will be low. How long was the car sitting? I would replace all the fluids and filter and the battery if it is weak. How are the tires?

What is leaking? Coolant, oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, etc.? Jim
