Do I need to replace oil pump

Asked by Jan 16, 2016 at 04:13 PM about the 2001 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Durango rolled it into water. Removed spark plugs hand cranked water
out. Got truck running but no oil pressure. Anything I can try?

First, change the oil and oil filter. Then hook up a mechanical gauge to see if you really have no oil pressure. I'm thinking that either the wire coming from the sending unit is still wet and shorted out (light) or the fuse for the gauges is blown (gauge). HTH. -Jim
