Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok here we go I've got an 98 dodge 1500
with 5.9 magnum bought it cheap because
transmission was bad slipping and got
water all in it so rather than trying to repair
trans that most likely was a waist of time I
bought another and put it in wellllllllll I
decided to let teenage neibor make him a
little weekend cash and put it in for me.he
got it in no problem it started and ran just
fine about half way through the test drive
then died dead as doornail so we pulled it
home come to find out he had the wires to
the crankshaft passion censor James in
between trans and engine all three wires cut
clean through . well of course I tried to
rewire to no avail so got a new on put it on
no good naught another new one no good
took one out of an old wrecked one she
started butt sounded like pure he'll would
idle to some extent butt if you put it in gear
it died if you give it gas it spits and
sputtered back fires just a big noisier mess.
So can anyone tell me what the he'll
happened and how to fix it ? I'm almost
ready to cut my looses and take it to the
junk yard.
