engine says truck runs hot i think the thermostate is bad where is the thermostate on the engine or in the radiator housing

Is the coolant level full, check after the truck cools down, start there first. To find the thermostat, follow the top hose on the radiator to the engine block, it should go to cast housing. The thermostat is under there.
