Overheating 4.7l durango

Asked by Jim_edward1012 Jan 15, 2019 at 05:52 AM about the 2005 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 05 Durango with the 4.7 is overheating. I've
replaced the thermostat, as well as water pump.
The clutch fan is fine. I'm at a loss as to what can
be causing the issue. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Air in cooling system bleed air from system like this remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.

Ok you may want to clean out the radiator coils maybe clogged with dirt and bugs causing little to no air flow across the coils if A.C condenser coil sets in front of radiator clean it also so that you can get good air flow to radiator
