I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with 177,000 miles on it, it was park and hit, long story short the person hasn't any insurance. Now I need an rear axel, spring and shackles parts cost 400, labor 500

getting it fix or just get rid of it

Durango is an excellent vehicle. And they drive really well. If everything else is running good I would put that money in to it. To buy another used vehicle...you just don't know what may be wrong
