Why wont my 04 sebring charge?

Asked by Lisa Mar 28, 2021 at 01:10 PM about the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 04 convertible keeps dying from dead
battery. I put in a new battery because it was
about 6 years old. No help. I tested it and it
said bad voltage regulator. I put new
alternator. No help. Took it off and the
alternator tested and its working properly.
But on the car it still says bad voltage
regulator. I put in a new PCM. still dies. Wont
charge. Im thinking of running new wires if i
can find a clear diagram but before i do that
is there something I'm missing? A fuse
maybe? Im out of ideas. Please help

If it helps... My father used to do a test... Remove the battery cable and if the car keeps running the alternator is good....this car dies

What engine do you have in your Sebring? Certain engines have a voltage regulator listed in the parts list. The 2.4L DOHC and 3.0L
