what and where does it mean when ground wire seperated

took car to dealer dash was going crazy they told me ground wire separated. Now car won't start. Where is this ground wire so I can drive it to fix cooling system and front motor mount

From your information it sounds like the main ground is what you are after, that is the one from the battery to the block and it also might have a auxiliary lead that could go to the ECM harness, you can try to get one from a local parts store but as it is a Cadi you might be stuck going with a dealer to get one.

Right, and why didn't you have it repaired after they diagnosed the problem? Too much $$$?

If you're having cooling system issues step back a moment. Your Cadillac has a Northstar engine. They are notorious for blowing head gaskets. This is a $3,500.00+ repair to have it done correctly. Honestly it may not be worth fixing. HTH. -Jim
