Oil leak

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today I found that my 2001 bmw 325ci coupe is
leaking oil but I was looking to see if it was from
the head gasket or the valve cover gasket but
theres no oil leaking from there it looks like is
leaking from the oil pan but im not sure also the
car is overheating it have coolant but still
overheating, what can that be?

Common Oil leak on a '01 BMW is usually from the valve cover gasket or the Oil filter housing gasket, that is around the engine block near the alternator. Car overheating is not good, you must have a leak and air in the system. Change out the components if they are original......http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=914109
