Question type: General

I just bought a 2010 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It is
listed as RWD with 4x4. I have no option to engage
4x4. Is this right?

Should be a knob just in front of and to the left of the shifter. I believe it says "snow, sand, mud" etc.

I looked online and have seen the knob your referring to but I don’t have one

Have you verified that the vehicle is actually equipped with four wheel drive?

Unfortunately, the used car dealership I bought it from did not have the manual. The CarFax listed it as RWD with 4x4. Is there a way I can verify?

You can also put the VIN in Google and it should pull the vehicle information up.

I do have drive axles and a transfer case.

Thanks guys. I’m not a car guy at all. I appreciate the help from those that are knowledgeable about this stuff!

See at the bottom.of the shifter the negative and the positive? When in drive and comlelty stopped push the shifter to the left 05-10 should go right into 4wheel and then if you needed to downshift you would just hit it to the left for each gear and then to the right to go back up again.

If your seeing (P) (R) (N) (D) (L) send you shifter unit to AutoXpressTech for an inexpensive repair to restore correct operation.
