Hi all.

I really do not know much...I hope it make sense.

Does anyone know anything about Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo "having a mercedes engine"?

If it does, is it the only Grand Cherokee with it?

I tried finding info online, but couldn't quite find the answer. Does anyone know of a page where I can get that sort of info?

no, the jeep cherokee or any jeep does not come with a mercedes engine.is a chrystler v8- v6-2.8 or 4.0 inline or straight 6 cylender.

thanks, I found this online: "The 2005 Grand Cherokee is not a Jeep from thetradition of American Motors, but rather a Jeep from the Mercedes-Benztradition, with a little Dodge Magnum attitude thrown in." What do you think they mean by "Mercedes-Benztradition"? Thanks again

I would think they mean a Jeep with a luxurious interior and plush ride, more like a Mercedes than a sturdy, strong American Motors kind of vehicle.

NOPE NOT A BENZ MOTOR... but the Jeep was bought by Chrysler/Dodge and those companies became part of Dalmier-Benz which makes Mercedes. If you lift the hood on certain Dodge cars like maybe the CROSSFIRE sports car the name plate under the hood will say Dailmer-Benz/Chrysler

Yes, the 2.7l diesel is a Mercedes engine, the exact type found in the Mercedes ML 370.

I own a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK with the Mercedes-Benz 3.0L OM642 engine and 5G-Tronic transmission. It was only in 2007 and 2008 that Mercedes gave those model years that engine and transmission.

Jeep wj 2m7 cmd engine is a mercedes diesel engine also all wjs were designed by Amber Benz to compete with the ml350 version of benz

I hope that means the engine.) The Cherokee diesel does move off the line quickly. Jeep says its 0-to-100 km/h performance is nine seconds flat. Another benefit of torque and 4WD is that it’s a decent tow vehicle, and to that end, Jeep rates the diesel Grand Cherokee to tow up to 3,266 kg.
