Unknown brake issue
From what I've gathered once you hear squeaking
while braking, your pads should be replaced. If I
was aware of this(very new to learning about how
automobiles tick) a couple months ago I probably
wouldn't have the problem I do now. I remember
hearing it a few times but was assured it was
nothing and could wait. In the last couple weeks I
have heard it almost everytime I came to a stop, but
again was reassured.
Done with the reassurance since 3 days ago they
started to really squeak and have since turned into
a groaning. I haven't been driving it much since
then which is why I find it so alarming that it's
rapidly gotten so much worse.
Yesterday it was only groaning when I put the
brakes on and usually would go away within 10
seconds of driving. This morning it started to make
the noise periodically when I was driving at any
speed and tonight it started the second I pulled
The odd part to me is that now it isn't squeaking
when I apply the brakes and am almost to a
stop(10km) which was where the noise started from
so why isn't it making it anymore?
A few people have mentioned about one of the
Pistons maybe being seized so only half my pad is
touching on the back passenger side. But I myself
think it sounds so bad it's at the metal clip to let
you know it's time for new pads but even worse
than that it sounds like the worse noise.
What could this screw up if driven on because I
don't know if it'll be way worse once I get there, if
I'll even make it and if so then new rotors for sure
I'm just looking for more information and peoples
points of view, I learnt what I know all yesterday but
it needs to be fixed asap.
Thank you so much for any input
