2 Weeks before I had an accident and i crashed the front part of the car. The front
Bumper and the Hood were hardl damaged but the Airbags did not open. I have heard that
there is in the front part of the car a chip which activates the airbags in any crash, even if
the crash was with 20 km/h. Is that true? Why did the airbags did not open?
The sensors today are using both speed and G force to determine air bag deployment, it is true that you had reached and exceeded the speed threshold, it is possible that the G force was not sufficient to cause deployment. I would get the system thoroughly checked over, even though I despise all of this HiTech in cars today, this is one system that I do approve of, personal experience talking.
@tennisshoes do you think that i should complain about it to the the Mazda Company?
Start with your local Mazda dealer, with all of the negative activity about airbags right now they might just check it out for you with little or no charge.
Even 20 km/hr...12½ mph? I believe you tennishoes, I just thought it was a bit faster than that
