Car won't start

Asked by Bentayga_776 Mar 15, 2017 at 07:14 PM about the 1992 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 4 Dr Regency Elite Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I drove my car to school just fine, when I went
to leave and got in the car I turned the key and a
noise I had never heard of occurred so I turned the
car off to try again. Every time I turn the key I get a
continuous  noise, it somewhat sounds like a low
powered engine . From the descriptions ive read, if
it was the starter it would either be clicking or
clanking but my car is only making a continuous
noise.... somewhat like loud hair clippers
maybe??? My stereo and lifht turn on fine, my car
has trouble when the gas gets low but I don't think
that is the reason right now... any suggestions?

Sounds like a low battery. Try jump starting the car. Then probably need the battery charged back up and should check the charging system. Also check the battery connections, may be corroded and needing cleaning.
