Miss fire help

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car misfires, and almost back fires when trying to
accelerate. Could this be bad control module or ecm,
both are factory original, car has 110,000 miles on it with
3.8 liter motor.

Water/or/wires are on wrong plugs

The ignition timing may be off or maybe you have big vacuum leak. Is the check engine light on?

Has it ever been tuned up? At 110,000 miles you're overdue. Let's start with new spark plugs and spark plug wires. Check the coil packs as well. If one is failing replace all 3. The other 2 are soon to follow. HTH. -Jim
