How can I stop the deck message from draining my battery?

I have a sebring convertible 06 two door that is displaying
deck in the odometer even after the car is shut off. Ive
checked the latch mechanism on the trunk and all seems to
work correctly. How can i remove this message and keep it
from draining my battery each night?
