I have a 1995 Chevy Caprice and wen I hit my breaks my lights don't come on .. I've been using my park lights instead

First check your bulbs and fuses. Then check the bulb sockets for power and ground with multi meter when brake pedal is depressed. If no power found then I would check the brake pedal switch.
