Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 mini cooper won't start. It doesn't make any
noises and the dash lights are coming on. Does
anybody know what the problem could be?

Start with basic troubleshooting. Assuming it doesn't crank or turn over. Check battery voltage, it should be minimum 12.4. Check the battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If cables are ok, check voltage signal at the starter solenoid as you try to start it.

This car is transponder equipped in the key if exposed to magnetic field such as a demagnitizer such as used for anti theft in stores it can damage transponder. Which will lock out fuel pump and starter. Turn key on look for an icon w a car w a lock through it or icon of a key or security flashing. If so youll need to have key reprogrammed at dealer.
