Question type: Maintenance & Repair

05 Mini Cooper S manual was running fine then was
teaching my sister to drive it so of course there was
several stall outs and restarts, then after a stall out it
would not start. Figured it was something about
battery, was able to finally pop start it but then it
drove really ruff and wanted to die out with a lil bit
of sputtering. Got it home and wouldn’t restart
again and popped hood and it was now over
heating. It still over heats but temp gage stays in
the middle. The check engine goes on and off from
day to day. Some days it’s in then nothing for a day
or two then back on. Not sure if that helps

Replaced thermostat and now no more overheating but still will not start unless I pop start it but once I Turn off car, it will not restart no matter how long it sits. It’s been almost a week. There is power getting to the starter, dash and headlights alll come on and battery reads 13 volts so no clue what to try next. Oh fuses are good also. In car and under hood
